National Treasurer William Sigmon, Alpha Sigma (Tennessee), and National Chaplain Alan Duesterhaus, Zeta Epsilon (George Mason), served as installation officers for the Fraternity’s first chartering of 2017. Zeta Epsilon (George Mason) and Eta Phi (UMBC) initiated 54 refounding fathers into the Pi Kappa Phi brotherhood. It was a memorable experience for all involved.
Director of Chapter Operations C. Brad Middleton, Beta Eta (Florida State), Assistant Director of Expansion and Growth Dalton Guthery, Alpha Gamma (Oklahoma), and Senior Leadership Consultant Matt Bryant, Xi (Roanoke), represented the national fraternity and facilitated events over the weekend.
The chapter hosted their banquet in the Stamp Memorial Atrium in the student union. Christine Licate, the University of Maryland Greek Coordinator, welcomed all in attendance on behalf of the university and issued warm remarks from the Greek life office. William Sigmon delivered the keynote address in which he challenged the chapter to keep improving and to not become complacent after reaching their chartering goal. Alan Duesterhaus had a few remarks and presented the chapter with their new charter. Dalton Guthery addressed the audience on behalf of the national headquarters. Former National President, David Lane, Omega (Purdue), attended the banquet. Brother Lane presided over the National Council when Eta Epsilon was initially closed, so he wanted to witness the chapter’s return to campus. Some of the alumni from the original expansion shared their experiences with the new founding fathers of their chapter.
