For the men of the Delta Lambda Chapter, the journey to becoming a chartered chapter began in the fall 2014 semester when national staff members arrived on campus to begin recruiting the founding fathers. Along their journey they were met with many obstacles but through their collective strength, they were able to accomplish their goal.
On the Friday evening of the chartering weekend, the men of the Delta Lambda Chapter were initiated into Pi Kappa Phi by the brothers of the Eta Zeta Chapter at Queen University of Charlotte and the Epsilon Rho Chapter at Lenoir Rhyne University.
Installing officers, William T. Sigmon from the Alpha Sigma Chapter at the University of Tennessee and Phil Tappy from the Lambda Chapter at the University of Georgia, assisted with the oral examination. Phil is a former National President and Sigmon currently serves as the National Chaplain for Pi Kappa Phi.
Saturday night the newly initiated men celebrated the rechartering of Delta Lambda with over one hundred fifty of the alumni members. Brothers of the newly chartered chapter shared memories from their journey to chartering while alumni looked back fondly and the memories they created, and brotherhood they still share. The chartering banquet was a great showing of how strong the brotherhood of Pi Kappa Phi is, and how it can change the lives of our students.
The national organization is excited to welcome the men of Delta Lambda Chapter into our brotherhood. We would like to thank the students, advisors, and university staff who contributed to the chapter’s success.
