Charleston Alumni Chapter hosts successful Founder’s Day

The weekend started with a meet and greet happy hour on Friday at Mac’s Place, owned by Garret McNally, alumnus of Alpha Psi Chapter at Indiana University. The annual alumni meeting was held on Saturday where new board members were elected.

Congratulations to Johnnie Baxley (Alpha) President, Drew Holder (Alpha) Vice President, Tyler Williams (Alpha) Director of Chapter Relations, Ryan Treat (Alpha) Director of Alumni Events. The main Founders’ Day event was held Saturday afternoon in the McAlister Hospitality Suite at TD Arena, home of the College of Charleston Cougars. The Keynote speaker was Chief Executive Officer of Pi Kappa Phi, Mark Timmes, who spoke of the continued success of Pi Kappa Phi.

This year the Order of Alpha was awarded to Pete Paulatos, Alpha 888. The Order of Alpha is an award given to an alumnus to recognize those who have volunteered above and beyond expectations of the brotherhood of the Alpha Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi. Pete played a key role in efforts to renovate the Alpha Chapter fraternity house and in preparations for the Centennial in 2004 and subsequently served on the Housing Corporation for 12 years as Treasurer and then President.

The Charleston Alumni Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi was excited to welcome brothers and guests from various chapters, those living in the greater Charleston area and from out of town.

The Chapter has had great success with their Founders’ Day festivities and look forward to even more next year.
