During his time at Queens University of Charlotte, Carl served as Eta Zeta Chapter’s Archon and Treasurer. After graduation he took a job with Wells Fargo Securities, becoming one of the first graduates from Queens to be accepted into an investment banking analyst program. While at Wells Fargo, Carl specialized in leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions and other debt financings, closing over $10 billion in transactions. Carl recently accepted an associate position with Five Points Capital, a middle market private equity firm, which he will start this summer after completing his two-year program with Wells Fargo. Carl will be responsible for originating, underwriting and closing new investments for Five Points’ mezzanine and buyout equity strategies. Carl continues to dedicate much of his free time to helping college students with their career development. Having completed six internships in his college career with some of the most prestigious financial institutions, Carl believes strongly in the impact an internship can have in a young person’s life. He recently launched a podcast called “Interns on Fire” as an extension of his 2014 Amazon bestselling book on internships, Cash in Your Diploma. The podcast recently hit #1 on iTunes’ list of New and Noteworthy Podcasts for Higher Education. He is also a featured guest blogger on many top internships sites.
Advice for students and young alumni:
