At a time when school pride is at an all-time high after winning the BCS National Championship, Beta Eta is definitely doing its part to “uphold the traditions and activities of our college.” We are excited to welcome the 15 new associate members of Kappa Class as they begin their life-changing and valuable process to becoming brothers this spring. Coming from all parts of Florida, the U.S. and even internationally, these men will add to the diversity that we take great pride in at our chapter. Academics remain one of our top priorities as we enter the new semester. Pi Kapp boasts one of the best GPAs of fraternities on campus with a 3.05 cumulative grade point average; which is higher then the ALL men’s average at the university.
Having three brothers completed Journey of Hope last year, Beta Eta continues to build its philanthropic efforts. This coming summer our chapter has one other brother participating in JOH, one brother participating in Build America, and two brothers participating in Gear Up Florida. In addition through brother’s donations and t-shirt sales a Beta Eta has already raised over $2,000 for Push America this semester with many events coming up!
Pi Kapps also play a dominant role in Florida State’s own philanthropic events as we have over 40 brothers participating in Dance Marathon, which raises money for Shands Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network. Last year we placed third among fraternity/sorority pairs while this year, with the event still months away, we have already raised over$4,000 with much more fundraising to come!
Just as our college’s football team will have a national championship to defend, many of our intramural teams will face the same task as our tennis and softball teams try to repeat their titles. Pi Kappa Phi at Florida State remains a dominant force in athletics as we consistently place in the top of almost every sport, finishing third among fraternities on campus in athletics.
The chapter has also prides itself for incredible campus involvement. A majority of the brotherhood holds at least one leadership position on campus. This semester we have had the honor of the next IFC president being a brother of our chapter. In addition, we have student senators, the chair of the campus recreation board, the event day manager for the BIG event, and many other prestigious leaders on campus.
The Beta Eta Chapter continues to be dominant in all aspects on campus and nationally.
