At the beginning of the day from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. brother Karl Ochs planned The Puppy Experience, where local breeders provided their puppies to give students time to sit back and relax for small donations towards The Ability Experience. The event was so popular that some students waited 45 minutes just to have their turn with the puppies.
After a beautiful day raising money for The Ability Experience, Alpha Theta raised $1,700 to kickoff their philanthropy Friday. Later in the evening philanthropy chair, Eric Chappell, put together the inaugural Ability Experience Gala raising $3,000. The event included speeches by past Journey of Hope and Gear Up Florida participants, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and so much more. By the end of Friday, Alpha Theta Chapter was able to raise $4,700 and looks forward to continue this effort into next semester.
