Poets and Quants has historically only recognized MBAs from the top business schools for this nomination, but this year has been the first year they have opened it up to undergrads. Candidates are nominated by their school administration first and then must submit a form to the site for consideration. 50 students nation wide from the top undergraduate business schools this year were selected.
Yu ties much of this success back to the support from the Alpha Kappa Brotherhood at Michigan.
“My brothers helped me apply to the business school as a freshman, they’re in my classes, and they even helped me secure an internship last summer. As the treasurer of Alpha Kappa, I gained real-world leadership experiences and I quoted these experiences multiple times during my interview process. I’ve always told the younger guys in the house that it’s important to give back to the house internally, but that some of the best ways to give back is to represent Pi Kappa Phi outside the house on campus, in the corporate world, and beyond”.
