Patrick “Owen” Phillipy
Patrick “Owen” Phillipy, Eta Beta (Indiana State), graduated in 2020 and took on a role with Pi Kappa Phi as an expansion consultant. After relocating from Indiana to be near National Headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, for his consultant role, he has remained local. In the most literal sense considering his relocation, he says he would not be where he is today without Pi Kappa Phi. Since serving as a consultant, he has networked with individuals he met through the fraternity and consequently taken on various roles to further his career, such as a technical industry recruiter at Apex Systems, a high school business and computer science teacher at Rock Hill Schools and his current role as an operations senior analyst at Bank of America. The skills Own learned during his undergraduate years in Pi Kappa Phi have been instrumental in his career thus far. From learning to have genuine conversations through recruitment to learning to put the needs of others before himself through service, to becoming more open-minded, accepting of change and driven to succeed, Pi Kappa Phi has laid a solid foundation for his success in both his professional and personal life.
