2023 Thirty Under 30

Matthew Sutter

Since his graduation in 2016, Matthew Sutter, Beta Iota (Toledo), has not forgotten his undergraduate Pi Kappa Phi experience. Following his graduation, he served as the team events coordinator intern for The Ability Experience and then as a leadership consultant for the Fraternity, conducting campus visits and providing support for 32 undergraduate chapters. After his year on the road, he went on to serve The Ability Experience in various capacities, such as regional director of chapter services and director of logistics. When his time at The Ability Experience came to an end, he continued his work as a leader in the nonprofit world as the development manager for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the leading fundraising organization for Type 1 diabetes research and advocacy. In this role, he constructed a giving analysis to derive a strategic plan to increase giving, which led to surpassing the fundraising goal for their Hope Gala Charlotte event by $650,000, setting an organizational record of $1.8 million raised. He currently serves as a communication analyst for Lowe’s Company Inc., managing communication channels for all Lowe’s supply chain distribution centers nationwide. He lives out the values of the Fraternity each day, whether it be leading the 2017 Journey of Hope TransAmerica Team as the project manager, sharing his positive fraternity experience with others to break the stigma surrounding Greek life, or volunteering as a servant leader in his community
