2023 Thirty Under 30

Lee Calum Welch

Since his graduation, Lee Calum Welch, Gamma Beta (Old Dominion), has gone on to earn his master’s degree from his alma mater and his Juris Doctor degree from the William & Mary Law School. While in graduate school, Lee served as the graduate assistant for fraternity and sorority life and as the advisor for the Panhellenic Council. Throughout law school, he worked as an extern in Old Dominion University’s Office of Institution Equity and Diversity, handling investigations into sexual misconduct, Title IX complaints and discrimination. In addition, he worked as an intern in public defender’s offices throughout the Hamptons Roads region, assisting hundreds of defendants who could not afford to hire their own counsel throughout their entire legal proceedings. His undergraduate experience in Pi Kappa Phi taught him the value of hard work and service and working with and assisting those with different backgrounds. After graduating from law school, Lee began his career practicing domestic relations in northern Virginia, focusing on matters involving individuals with physical and/or mental disabilities. He then went on to practice criminal and traffic defense in the Richmond area and has now returned home to Hampton Roads, opening his own firm that specializes in criminal, civil and estate litigation.
