Joey Smith
Joey Smith, Delta Delta (Truman State), says he would not be who he is today without his membership and experiences in Pi Kappa Phi and applies the values of the Fraternity in all areas of his life. As an undergraduate member, he participated in Journey of Hope in 2015 and 2016 and went on to serve as project manager for Journey of Hope in 2017. These experiences instilled in him hard work, patience, creative thinking, perseverance and the ability to utilize empathy in all areas of his life. His passion for Pi Kappa Phi only grew after graduating, accepting a role as a leadership consultant for National Headquarters, traveling to numerous chapters and supporting undergraduate students in areas such as recruitment, prevention and brotherhood. Joey then continued his time on staff as a member of the prevention and education team before moving home to St. Louis and accepting a sales support role with World Wide Technology. Now, he has continued advancing through the company, helping lead a team of 10 individuals that collectively manage over 60 companies’ technology needs. His company prides itself on exemplifying the values of trust, honesty, empathy, passion, attitude, being a team player and humility, and encourages employees to give back to the community through days of service, partnering with different charities in the area each year. The values he was raised with, and which were reinforced throughout his time as an undergraduate member and now through his career, have all aligned to guide him through life.
Joey and his fellow Thirty Under 30 recipients will be honored at the 2023 Pi Kapp Alumni Reunion. Interested in joining us? Click here to learn more.
