Jared Logan
Jared Logan, Beta Phi (East Carolina), graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in applied sociology and continued his education at Clemson University, where he obtained his master’s degree in counselor education with a focus in student affairs in 2019. His career began at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, otherwise known as Virginia Tech, where he served as the assistant director for special populations in new student and family programs, creating orientation and transition programming for transfer, international, military-affiliated, first-generation and historically underrepresented or underserved student populations. Currently, he serves as the assistant director of new student and family programs at Florida State University, overseeing the recruitment, selection, training and supervision of a team of 50 orientation leaders, as well as managing all family transition and communication for the institution. In addition to his career, Jared volunteers his time with NODA, the Association for Orientation, Transition and Retention, as the co-chair for the First Generation College Student Network. He actively invests in the fraternity and sorority community by serving as a facilitator for the Greek Life Summit at Florida State University, a weekend-long retreat for members of each chapter and council executive boards, as well as serving as the faculty advisor for the Nu Delta Chapter of Chi Phi Fraternity and being honored as a special initiate to the Omega Epsilon Chapter of Order of Omega. He has remained active with Pi Kappa Phi as a former member of the Council of Advisors for Zeta Alpha Chapter (Clemson), former advisor to Delta Alpha Chapter (Virginia Tech) and current member of the Individual and Chapter Conduct Committee. As a first-generation, queer black man from rural North Carolina, he prides himself on his ability in both his professional and personal life to help others believe in themselves, know they are cared for and feel a sense of belonging, no matter what identities they may hold.
