2018 Thirty Under 30: Tyler Reed

After graduating from the University of Alabama, Tyler was accepted into Teach For America where he taught high school math for four years in Stuttgart, Arkansas. As a teacher, Tyler spent his mornings tutoring students, coaching football as a volunteer, giving rides home to students after school and practice, worked on weekends to volunteer with student clubs and made it a goal to help as many students as possible break the cycle of poverty and maximize their potential. During his four years as a math teacher, he simultaneously pursued and achieved his Masters in Educational Leadership and was named a Walton Scholar. Once he graduated with his Master’s degree, Tyler was hired as the high school principal in Rose Bud, Arkansas where he has been charged with developing over four hundred 7-12 graders and thirty-three teachers. Tyler is also currently pursuing his Ed.D at Arkansas Tech University while simultaneously serving as a principal in Rose Bud.
