Spencer Haworth
Beta Xi – Central Michigan
As a re-founding father of the Beta Xi Chapter at Central Michigan University, Spencer served as a member of Journey of Hope crew in both 2012 and 2013, later becoming the Inaugural North Route Logistics Coordinator for The Ability Experience in 2013. He went on to serve The Ability Experience as the Director of Logistics for three years and later serving as a Regional Director for Chapter Services. While serving The Ability Experience, Spencer became the co-creator of the inaugural international service trip, Ability Camp Guatemala, raising over $18,000 and recruiting over 20 participants in three months. He also generated $45,000 in new annual revenue by creating the online peer-to-peer fundraiser, BeardsGiving, and boosted regional fundraising from $170,000 to $245,000 in the 2017 fiscal year. After leaving The Ability Experience, Spencer accepted a position as Development Officer with Make-A-Wish Michigan, where he has recently launched “Dream Team,” a program that allows athletes participating in Michigan endurance races to raise funds and awareness for Make-A-Wish Michigan. Out of the office, Spencer volunteers as the Chapter Advisor for Epsilon Beta chapter, is a member of the Central Michigan University Young Alumni Board of Directors and the Association of Fundraising Professionals – West Michigan, and has volunteered in numerous Ability Experience Challenges.
