Alumni Organizations
Alumni Chapters
Alumni chapters and housing corporations are separate organizations within the Fraternity whose purpose is to connect and engage alumni of a particular chapter or to secure and maintain competitive housing for a particular student chapter. Many housing corporations own chapter houses, while many will also lease houses if ownership is not possible. Because they are organized around one particular chapter, many housing corporations also perform the functions of alumni chapters.
Regional Alumni Associations
Alumni associations exist to provide members in the same geographical area, regardless of chapter affiliation, age or life stage, consistent opportunities to connect with each other and the greater Fraternity, facilitate friendships, foster awareness, pride, engagement and service and fulfill their pledge of lifelong brotherhood.
Societies and Affinity Networks
Societies and Affinity Networks offer additional ways alumni can stay connected with each other and Pi Kappa Phi.
Societies recognize members for specific accomplishments and promote continued involvement in the activities of the greater Fraternity. Each society has unique qualifications, goals and opportunities for inducted members.
Affinity networks offer alumni and students the opportunity to connect based on common interest or shared experience. Individuals or groups interested in forming an affinity network can apply for recognition from the National Council.
Starting an Alumni Group
Starting an alumni group may seem simple, but it can be a very complex process. Regardless of what type of group you want to start (alumni chapter, housing corporation or area alumni association), you should first answer this question: What will the organization work to accomplish, and how will it work to benefit the Fraternity? For questions or resources to assist you in this process or to learn more, please contact the alumni engagement team.
