We are honored to have your son as a member of the Pi Kappa Phi brotherhood and hope to be a monumental step in his journey into exceptional leadership. You might have questions about Pi Kappa Phi and your son’s commitment – here are some common topics parents often ask. Benefits of Fraternity Life
Higher academic standards, personal-development, community building and irreplaceable friendships — these are just some of the benefits of fraternity and sorority life.
Fraternity life offers smaller communities based on shared values among a sea of new faces. It helps your son build bonds with loyal friends they can rely on for life.
And yes, it’s true. Fraternity life is a whole lot of fun. But going Greek is a process and a commitment. Your son will learn time management and discipline, expand his cultural circle and have unlimited chances to explore areas of interest, including:
- Leadership roles
- Financial management
- Fundraising
- Event planning
- Organizational management
No matter what, he’ll learn how to be an effective leader, how to work better as a team and why it really is greater to give than to receive.
As a whole, a collegiate fraternity experience will make him a better student, brother, son and employee. On a resume, fraternity life shows that your son is a committed person with a strong moral compass.

Below are some additional resources or links to information that will help you learn more about your son’s experience with our Fraternity.
Leadership and Education
Providing members with ongoing fraternity education is important in developing a meaningful brotherhood and also prepares members to shoulder their full responsibility as not just brothers, but l citizens. This includes leadership training opportunities, hands-on service opportunities at the chapter level and with The Ability Experience.
Academic Success
Since our inception in 1904, our founders charted a clear path as scholars and proclaimed the importance of enhancing intellect through word and deed. Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity is committed to providing our undergraduate members with the tools and resources they need to excel in and out of the classroom.
Prevention and Accountability
Pi Kappa Phi uses a comprehensive approach to risk management education, working to address the negative behaviors associated with alcohol and drug abuse, hazing and sexual abuse and harassment. Through education, training and mature adult guidance, we provide the tools to help students make good choices and understand the consequences of their choices.
