Undergraduate Awards

Ted A. Scharfenstein Vice Archon of the Year

Recognizing the most outstanding vice archon in the nation, this award is named for Ted Scharfenstein of the Beta Beta Chapter at Florida Southern College, who served Pi Kappa Phi in numerous roles, including nine years on the National Council and a term as National President. His service first began in the traveling counselor role, now known as leadership consultant. Through this role, he found a passion for recruitment and expansion, one that he brought into his many years of service to the Fraternity. His vision for the trajectory of Pi Kappa Phi is what all brothers, and especially all vice archons, should strive for.

This individual must excel in pre-initiating, initiating and maintaining membership that exceeds the IFC standards on their respective campus, and recognize that recruitment and retention are what keep Pi Kappa Phi strong.
