Robert Lane, Alpha Omicron (Iowa State)

Robert “Bob” A. Lane, Alpha Omicron (Iowa State), has been named a 2026 Mr. Pi Kappa Phi, the Fraternity’s highest honor recognizing a lifetime of service and leadership.

For more than five decades, Lane has quietly and consistently invested in Pi Kappa Phi, shaping its growth through steady leadership, thoughtful guidance and an unwavering commitment to its mission.

Initiated on April 25, 1965, Lane earned a degree in chemical engineering from Iowa State University in 1968. He went on to build a 30-year career with the Shell Companies, working across offshore and onshore oil and gas exploration and production in the United States and internationally.

His work took him from New Orleans to Houston and London, where he advanced into senior leadership roles focused on corporate planning and strategy. Over the course of his career, he held several key leadership positions, including vice president and general manager of Shell Western Exploration and Production Company and vice president of international ventures.

While his professional career was marked by progression and responsibility, it is Lane’s sustained service to Pi Kappa Phi that defines his legacy.

A member of the Nu Phi Society, inducted in 2004, Lane has played a critical role in advancing the Fraternity’s national and local efforts. He served on the PUSH America board of directors, including terms as treasurer, vice chairman and chairman, helping guide Pi Kappa Phi’s philanthropic endeavor through important periods of growth. He later chaired Pi Kappa Phi’s CEO Search Committee, ensuring strong leadership for the future of the greater Fraternity.

At the chapter level, Lane has remained closely connected to Alpha Omicron, serving as an advisor and as chairman of the Alpha Omicron Building Corporation. His involvement reflects a belief that strong chapters are built through long-term investment and consistent support.

The honor of being named Mr. Pi Kappa Phi also carries a deep personal meaning. Lane’s brother, David Lane, Omega (Purdue), was named Mr. Pi Kappa Phi in 2015. The two share a lifelong bond shaped by their commitment to Pi Kappa Phi and the values they have lived together. With this recognition, they become one of the few families to have two brothers receive the Fraternity’s highest honor, a reflection not only of individual achievement, but of a shared belief in service, leadership and lifelong brotherhood.

In recognition of his service, Lane received a Merit Citation from the 51st Supreme Chapter and a Certificate of Appreciation from the 57th Supreme Chapter.

“Bob’s impact on Pi Kappa Phi is not defined by a single role or moment, but by a lifetime of steady, selfless service,” said National President Joe Brady, Epsilon Omicron (Villanova). “He has shown up for this Fraternity year after year, not for recognition, but because he believes in what Pi Kappa Phi stands for. His leadership has been thoughtful, dependable and deeply rooted in our values. Bob has helped shape the direction of our organization while always keeping its purpose at the center. He is more than deserving of this honor.”

Beyond Pi Kappa Phi, Lane has remained active in his community and with Iowa State University. He serves as an Iowa State University Foundation governor and has contributed to numerous university initiatives, including the Engineering Campaign Cabinet and advisory roles within the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. In 2015, he received the College of Engineering’s Professional Achievement Citation in Engineering.

Lane has served in leadership roles within his church community, including the vestry of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, as outreach committee chairman and on the Bishop’s Committee for Lord of the Streets Episcopal Mission Church. He also served as president of the St. Mark’s Endowment Board of Trustees.

Stuart Hicks, Kappa (UNC-Chapel Hill)

William “Stuart” Hicks, Kappa (UNC-Chapel Hill), has been named a 2026 Mr. Pi Kappa Phi, the highest honor awarded by the Fraternity.

The award recognizes a lifetime of exceptional leadership, service and commitment to Pi Kappa Phi. Hicks’s impact spans decades, shaped by both distinguished professional achievement and a deep, sustained dedication to the Fraternity.

Initiated on December 2, 1975, Hicks earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from Florida Atlantic University. Following two years on the National Headquarters staff, he built a highly successful career in commercial real estate.

Now retired, Hicks held senior leadership roles with Spaulding & Slye and JMB Properties Company before joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Inc. (JLL), where he served in multiple executive positions, including chief executive officer of corporate solutions, Americas. In that role, he led a global platform delivering real estate services across portfolio strategy, transactions, project development and workplace consulting. He also served as global account executive for Bank of America, JLL’s largest client, and led JLL’s banking industry vertical.

While his professional accomplishments are significant, Hicks’s lasting impact on Pi Kappa Phi is what sets him apart.

A member of the Nu Phi Society, Hicks was inducted in 1992 and has remained deeply engaged in the Fraternity’s growth and success. He has served as a Pi Kappa Phi Foundation trustee, on National Council as Chaplain, chairman of the Pi Kappa Phi Properties board and a member of the Board of Governors. He currently serves as president of Kappa Council, Kappa Chapter’s housing corporation.

In recognition of his service, Hicks received a Merit Citation from the 46th Supreme Chapter and a Certificate of Appreciation from the 58th Supreme Chapter.

Beyond Pi Kappa Phi, Hicks has remained active in civic and industry organizations. He currently serves on the board of directors of Airwavz Solutions, Inc., and has previously served on the Advisory Board of Zennergy and the board and executive committee of the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte.

Hicks resides in North Carolina with his wife, Katie. They have three children.
