Guerrero named Thomas Sayre Philanthropist of the Year Award Recipient

Matthew Guerrero, Iota Iota (Cal Poly-Pomona), is the 2025 recipient of the Thomas Sayre Philanthropist of the Year Award. In 2023, Guerrero overcame fundraising challenges to participate in the Journey of Hope, an experience that ignited his passion for service. Upon returning to campus after a summer of service and cycling, he served as his chapter’s philanthropy chairman, raising more than $25,000 – the most in his chapter’s history. He also launched a volunteer partnership with Golden Heart Ranch, reviving a culture of service that has since inspired chapter brothers to take part in the Journey of Hope. In 2025, Guerrero returned to the road as project manager for the Journey of Hope TransAmerica team, leading brothers through the same life-changing experience that had transformed him. His dedication to The Ability Experience has already shaped his chapter and community, leaving a legacy of servant leadership and commitment that will continue for years to come.
