David D. Morgan Announced as 2025 Mr. Pi Kappa Phi Honoree

David D. Morgan, Beta Omicron (Northwestern State), Named Mr. Pi Kappa Phi 2025

David D. Morgan was initiated on March 14, 1970. During his undergraduate years, Morgan served as archon of the Beta Omicron Chapter (Northwestern State), president of the Interfraternity Council, was inducted into “Who’s Who Among College Students” and brought school spirit to life as Northwestern’s mascot, Vic the Demon.

After graduating with a degree in business, Morgan began his career in the insurance industry. In 1981, he founded United Teacher Associates Inc., an insurance agency specializing in providing insurance benefits to members of large state retired teacher associations. Morgan purchased an insurance company three years later and started writing the association member insurance policies through the company. The renamed United Teacher Associates Insurance Company grew annual revenue to more than $200 million with 250 full-time employees and more than 3,000 agents across the company. In 1999, he sold United Teacher Associates to a Fortune 500 company.

After a brief retirement, Morgan and his brother co-founded Association Member Benefits Advisors in 2001. AMBA provides a broad range of member benefits in 30 states to millions of association members with more than 300 full-time agents. AMBA was sold in 2016 to a private equity company.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Morgan has never wavered in his commitment to Pi Kappa Phi. A member of the Nu Phi Society, Morgan is an inductee of the 2006 class. Additionally, in the same year, he was inducted into the Pi Kappa Phi Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the field of business. In 2019, he received a Merit Citation for exceptionally meritorious service to Pi Kappa Phi.

At the national level, Morgan has served as a secretary on the Pi Kappa Phi Properties Executive Committee and currently serves as a Pi Kappa Phi Foundation trustee. Locally, he has served as the president and treasurer of the Beta Omicron Alumni Chapter and as president of the Beta Omicron Housing Corporation.

As first-generation college students, David and Sherry Morgan remain committed to furthering educational opportunities for students. The David D. Morgan “Extra Mile” National Scholars Program seeks to recognize well-rounded undergraduate members of Pi Kappa Phi, encouraging them to excel in the classroom while sustaining their involvement within their chapter, on campus and in surrounding communities. At the core of the David D. Morgan “Extra Mile” National Scholars Program is the belief that if you work hard, apply your talents and go the “extra mile” in all you do, you will find success in life. In addition, the Morgans established the Pi Kappa Phi and Sigma Sigma Sigma First Generation Student Fund at Northwestern State University, which annually distributes scholarships to qualified members of their respective organizations.

“David’s legacy is not just defined by his incredible business acumen, but by his unwavering commitment to giving back and elevating others. His drive to create opportunities for future generations of students and leaders speaks to his core belief that success is measured by how far you’re willing to go for the betterment of others,” said Pi Kappa Phi National President Joe Brady.

Please join Pi Kappa Phi in congratulating David D. Morgan for being named the highest and most prestigious honor of the fraternity: Mr. Pi Kappa Phi.
