Alpha Kappa Chapter at the University of Michigan Suspended

February 4, 2026

Effective January 15, 2026, Pi Kappa Phi suspended its Alpha Kappa Chapter at the University of Michigan following an investigation into violations of university regulations and the Fraternity’s risk management and conduct standards.

The decision was made by Pi Kappa Phi’s National Council after a review of the circumstances. The Fraternity holds its chapters and members to clear expectations rooted in responsibility, accountability and respect for their campus communities. When those expectations are not met, Pi Kappa Phi takes action consistent with its values and commitment to safety.

Pi Kappa Phi looks forward to returning to the University of Michigan at a mutually agreeable time for both the Fraternity and the university.

Pi Kappa Phi seeks to create an uncommon and lifelong brotherhood that develops leaders and encourages service to others for the betterment of our communities. Dating back to the fraternity’s founding on December 10, 1904, at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, Pi Kappa Phi has exemplified a commitment to leadership, service before self, and exceptional opportunities for our members. Today, on more than 150 campuses across America, Pi Kappa Phi continues to broaden its commitment to building exceptional leaders through uncommon opportunities.
