Tom attended Texas A&M University, where he studied journalism and joined the Delta Omega Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi. He went on to earn his master’s degree in educational administration from Texas A&M University and then his doctorate in education from Texas Tech University. Tom has spent more than two decades in student affairs and higher education leadership, recently serving as associate vice president for student affairs and adjunct faculty at St. Edward’s University. He first joined Pi Kappa Phi staff in 1995 as director of chapter services and returned to staff in 2025 as president of the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation. In his current role, he leads major gift fundraising, alumni engagement and donor stewardship while supporting strategic initiatives across the greater Fraternity. A longtime volunteer leader, Tom has served Pi Kappa Phi in a variety of national roles, including National President, Treasurer, Secretary and Historian, as well as volunteer coordinator of expansion, regional governor and chapter advisor. In his free time, Tom enjoys playing and watching sports, collecting MLB Hall of Fame autographs and traveling (he has visited 48 of the 50 states).
