The novel focuses on the true events surrounding the Great Franklin County Moonshine Conspiracy and the trial related to the illegal activities of Franklin County’s moonshiners.
A film adaptation of the novel, Lawless, was released in 2012, starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Jessica Chastain.
Most recently, Matt released a novel, The Night Swimmer, in 2012. He currently resides in Dallas where he teaches literature and writing at UT Dallas.
