Kappa Chapter’s event commemorating its anniversary of receiving its charter last fall did not disappoint. The event, held at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center, celebrated 100 years of Pi Kappa Phi at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With over 300 guests, active brothers witnessed the magnitude of the impact Pi Kappa Phi has had on the alumni. Many of whom have achieved staggering success since their time as students and credit their experience in the fraternity in aiding to their successes. Attendees enjoyed a wonderful dinner, a series of insightful speeches shared by brothers, and ended the evening with music and dancing.
Perhaps the most important takeaway from the evening was the experience of fraternal unity achieved by Pi Kappa Phi. Evident was the transcendence of brotherhood through the generations of former and current students. Alumni attendees were eager and able to reach out and connect with members of the undergraduate chapter. They were joined by Chief Executive Officer Mark E. Timmes and members of the National Council, including President Tracy Maddux. The experience shared by all brothers in attendance was invaluable to the meaning and legacy of Pi Kappa Phi. Many thanks to all those who made this special night possible. Here’s to the next one hundred years!
