Gregory Spray appointed as Alpha Theta (Michigan State) chapter advisor

Gregory J. Spray was recently appointed as the chapter advisor for Alpha Theta (Michigan State). Greg joined the Theta Rho (Western Michigan) chapter in spring 2011, and served as social chair and treasurer. While at WMU, he was also inducted into he Order of Omega, coordinated Greek Carnival, and was also the Delta Zeta sweetheart. Since Greg left WMU, he has obtained a Master’s degree in Communicative Sciences & Disorders (CSD), and will complete his Doctorate of Philosophy in CSD and neuro-imaging. He currently serves as a member of the MSU Presidential Search Committee, the president of the Michigan Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and also received Pi Kappa Phi’s Thirty under 30 Award in 2017.

Since being appointed as chapter advisor on March 19, Greg has attended chapter meetings, participated in Mom’s Weekend, consulted with the Assistant Director for Fraternity & Sorority Life at MSU and assisted with Greek Week preparations. Over the next year, Greg aims to help us develop a strategic plan to:

  • continue our financial stability
  • secure funding to renovate the chapter house
  • increase academic achievement
  • connect student members with alumni
  • develop and foster relations between the chapter and university administration (e.g., President, Deans, Program Directors)
  • provide unique opportunities to develop brothers while growing the chapter’s overall impact on Michigan State University.

If you are an alumnus of Alpha Theta, please contact Yanni Ballis (historian). The chapter is actively trying to build connections between alumni and student members.
