The chapter was installed by Jeff Esola, Gamma Nu (LaGrange) and Foundation Trustee member Michael Sweeney, Chi (Stetson). The 35 founding fathers were initiated into Pi Kappa Phi by the initiating teams from the Epsilon Eta (Winthrop) and Delta Lambda (UNC-Charlotte) chapters. Overall, it was a memorable evening for everyone involved.
Representing the national fraternity at the chapter’s chartering banquet were the Director of Chapter Operations C. Brad Middleton, Beta Eta (Florida), and Leadership Consultant Taylor Jernigan, Epsilon Eta (Winthrop). National Historian Glenn Aspinwall was also in attendance.
The President of Augusta University and alumnus of the Gamma Psi (Augusta) chapter, Dr. Brooks Keel, opened the banquet with a welcome from the university. The Dean of Student Life and initiate of the Alpha Lambda (Mississippi) chapter, Dr. Scott Wallace, also spoke to the crowd about his excitement for the chapter. Family members and several of the chapter’s alumni were also in attendance at the banquet.
The keynote was given by installing officer Jeff Esola who challenged the men to not be bystanders but to take action and be the leaders to shape your chapter through action. Michael Sweeney presented the chapter with their charter.
The Augusta Fraternity & Sorority Life community and Pi Kappa Phi are extremely proud of the men of Gamma Psi and look forward to all that they will accomplish.
