J. Ernest Johnson began his journey with Pi Kappa Phi on January 28, 1968, when he was initiated into the Alpha Iota Chapter at Auburn University. He is a partner and executive managing director at ApexOne Investment Partners, a real estate investment firm.
Johnson served on the National Council beginning in 1996, including terms as National Secretary, National Treasurer (1998–2002), National Vice President (2002–04) and National President (2004–06). He has also served on the Board of Directors for The Ability Experience (2007–10) and chaired the Nominating Committee.
On a local level, Johnson has served as president of the Alpha Iota Housing Corporation. Within the Foundation, Johnson has held roles as secretary/treasurer (2015–18) and chairman (2018–24), guiding the organization’s strategic philanthropic vision.
Johnson is a proud member of the Nu Phi Society. He received the Merit Citation in 2008 and was honored as Mr. Pi Kappa Phi in 2018, the Fraternity’s highest honor.
Johnson continues to invest his time, talent and treasure in the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation because, having served his undergraduate chapter as archon and later as National President, Pi Kappa Phi Properties president and Foundation chairman, he believes in the enduring strength of the Fraternity and its ability to lead the Greek world into the future.
