We took a short break for lunch just as the ramps were reaching completion. As always, we had a fantastic meal! This Victory Junction is really taking care of us and making sure that we are well-nourished for our long days of work.
The team working on the horse run-in is getting very close to reaching completion, so some of us started putting up the posts for the second horse run-in.
Our work time was cut a little short, because we needed to clean up and prepare for NASCARnival, a big event that the camp puts on every week for the campers. There were hot air balloons, tons of activities, and even a real race car where they demonstrated pit stop tire changes. We were even fortunate enough to have the Petty family – the famous NASCAR family who founded Camp Victory Junction – and Chris McCain of the Miami Dolphins drop by the camp to eat dinner and spend time with the kids at the camp.
The team had a blast hanging out with campers, playing yard games, and getting soaked in the dunk tank. It was really rejuvenating to get out and interact with the people who we work all day to help.
