Fortunately, there are many groups that strive to provide children with these opportunities to experience a normal childhood. On May 9, over two dozen Alpha Delta (Washington) brothers volunteered for “The Miracle League,” a national organization that hosts events in which children with disabilities unite to play some baseball. The chapter helped the children get adjusted to holding the bats and fielding the balls, and cheered as loudly as they could for them throughout the entire game.
Most of Alpha Delta’s volunteers have played baseball in the past, so they knew what the children must have been feeling – the sheer joy after getting a hit and running around the bases. Seeing the smiles and laughter on their faces made everything worth it. The chapter strongly encourages Pi Kapp brothers from all across the nation to contact their nearest Miracle League organization and participate, because for each and every child that steps on the plate, it truly makes a difference.
