On this afternoon alumnus Chris Shade, Delta Sigma (Bowling Green State), would tie the knot with Bonny Boutet (Zeta Tau Alpha) and celebrate their commitment with an array of family and friends. For the newly wedded couple, both the city of Charleston and the brothers of Pi Kappa Phi played significant roles in their lives and the events that led to that day.
The two were introduced by a mutual mentor who is a Pi Kapp; on a weekend getaway Chris proposed under the famed Angel Oak in Charleston, SC; Chris’s father is a Pi Kapp; all of the groomsmen are members; and even the officiant of the wedding is a brother of Pi Kappa Phi. As the home of Pi Kappa Phi, you could say that Charleston was destined to be the place that captured the couple’s heart.
While Chris began a new life with Bonny, his life-long commitment to Pi Kappa Phi was ever present in the spirit of the brothers that surrounded him.
