Andrew Carnes
Theta Sigma — Cal State – Long Beach
Andrew graduated from Long Beach State in May of 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography: Geographic Information Sciences. After graduating, Andrew began his career working for CAL Fire’s San Diego unit as a wildland firefighter on a hand crew. Serving as a wildland firefighter, Andrew worked to fight fires across the state of California while being mentored by other individuals. After just under a year with CAL Fire, Andrew was offered a position with the Los Angeles County Fire Department in August of 2016. Recently, he was offered the opportunity to promote from the position of a firefighter with the Los Angeles County Fire Department to a firefighter-paramedic. Andrew is currently in the process of completing the eight-month certification process and looks forward to furthering his emergency medical care skill set. While serving as a firefighter, Andrew also volunteers as a Ladder of Risk and Ultimate Respect in Action facilitator, a Pi Kapp College for Chapter Officers facilitator, and an Assistant Chapter Advisor for the Theta Sigma Chapter.
