The National Council has named Frank M. Ryll Jr., Beta Eta (Florida State), as the fraternity’s Hall of Fame inductee for 2010. Frank served as the president of the Florida Chamber of Commerce from 1982 to 2008, holding a distinguished record of service in what is one of the nation’s largest state chambers. Frank will receive this award at Supreme Chapter in Orlando, Fla., on August 5-9.

Today, the Florida Chamber is a federation of organizations that has more than 139,000 grassroots members and more than 3 million employers. Frank’s leadership across three separate decades helped to shape the Florida Chamber in to the organization it is today. Through Frank’s tremendous success in his professional endeavors he has brought credit to Pi Kappa Phi, and he has also served the fraternity as a volunteer. He has previously served on the Housing Corporation for Beta Eta as well as the Pi Kappa Phi Properties Board of Directors.

“Frank’s contribution to the state of Florida is immeasurable,” said National President Jeff Wahlen, Alpha Epsilon (Florida). “As president of the Florida Chamber of Commerce for 26 years, he’s been at the leading edge of change for Florida’s business community, while always working to build leaders who are equipped to tackle the next generation of issues facing our state. Frank has also been there for Pi Kappa Phi when duty and circumstance has called.”

Frank joins an esteemed group of individuals who have been inducted into the Pi Kappa Phi Hall of Fame, including:

Howard Baker, Alpha Sigma (Tennessee) – former Senator from Tennessee and President Reagan’s chief of staff.

James Edwards, Alpha (Charleston) – former governor of South Carolina and secretary of energy under the Reagan administration.

Joe Forehand, Alpha Iota (Auburn) – former President and CEO of Accenture.

Randy Owen, Delta Epsilon (Jacksonville State) – lead singer of Alabama, country music’s all-time best selling group.

Frank will be the 29th inductee into Pi Kappa Phi’s Hall of Fame since it was established in 1979 and joins Alan Sundberg as the second inductee from Beta Eta. Click here to view a complete list of Hall of Fame inductees.
