Dr. Lori Hart to Assume New Role with Pi Kappa Phi

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA—Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity announces Lori Hart, Ph.D., will transition roles to become the Senior Director of Strategic Prevention Initiatives in October. In this new role, Dr. Hart will focus on the future direction of Pi Kappa Phi’s prevention education initiatives and risk management policies. She will be responsible for prevention-related volunteer and staff trainings and support the fraternity’s sexual assault response protocols. Dr. Hart will also serve as a key advisor to Pi Kappa Phi’s senior leadership team.

“Lori’s contributions to Pi Kappa Phi over the past 15 years have been invaluable,” said Chief Executive Officer Mark E. Timmes. “As we continue to expand the menu of prevention education programs and resources available to our students and volunteers, we must also continue to evolve Lori’s role within Pi Kappa Phi. We are excited to have Lori’s expertise and insight focused on strategic policy and program-related conversations moving forward.”

Dr. Hart holds a bachelor of education in early childhood education and psychology from Auburn University, a master of education in counseling and guidance from the University of Montevallo, and a doctorate of philosophy in higher education from Georgia State University. Dr. Hart joined the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity staff in 2001 as the STAR Program Coordinator. Since that time, she has also held positions as Pi Kappa Phi’s Director of Alcohol Education and Director of Prevention Education. Dr. Hart received the Sue Kraft Fussell Distinguished Service Award from the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors in 2009 and the North-American Interfraternity Conference's Silver Medal in 2014 for her work in prevention education.
